Couldn't help but think of Jim Jones recently. That's the nearest parallel I can come up with to the slavish devotion to the cult of Trump.

You kind of hope that everything goes so terribly wrong, like a complete Jamestown massacre, so that the US stops doing this kind of thing ever again.
