There are an awful lot of young brunette women in our office of a certain age, and certain height, who wear the same clothes, and have the same hair length. They are virtually indistinguishable. And they multiply every year.
I mentioned this, foolishly, to several of my colleagues and their response was 'the girl you live with is called Iulia'. Very helpful.
But it's not just the brunette female clones we've hired - the problem is ubiquitous.
It's even worse if you take into account social media where people's digital names are different from their real names. I was speaking to a bloke in the office who said from his network of school teachers he contacts online, he has completely forgotten their original names, and only knows them by their digital handles - which are often unprintable in polite circles.
18,000 people, conservatively estimated! And it's probably not terribly different for everyone my age. Bring on human tagging I say. Facial recognition and augmented reality spectacles can't come soon enough.
Brilliant. Summing it all 😁
