Day Eighty Six - authentic dialogue

Updated: Mar 24

We watched an incredibly maudlin show on Netflix last night called 'One Day' which is a false name if ever I've heard one. It was a tonne of days spread over 20 years full of unrequited love and gloom. It was quite good - just depressing. Which isn't what you need when you have a busy life and need to chillax.

The sex scenes were hearty - the actors put their all into it. And of course, once I'd got over all the misery, that made me reflect on the situation closer to home.

Joe Cocker sang 'You can leave your hat on' to accompany the steamy nonsense movie 9 1/2 weeks starring Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger. I watched that film as an impressionable 17 year old randy spotty monstrosity and thought Mickey Rourke was the very definition of cool.

Then 30 odd years passed and his face looks like he's been using it to stop runaway buses. You'd never know he was a steaming hunk of sexiness back in the early 80's - not from the kind of melted Madame Tussaud's figure he's become now.

At least I haven't gone down that path.
