There's a guy I saw on social media who I swear would be the greatest person to have on hand if you needed someone to open a really tight jar lid in the kitchen. I'm sure there's no lid his fingers couldn't deal with.
I've been to Yosemite - and walked up one of the trails that sits beneath El Capitan. Takes you to a waterfall and it's bloody knackering climbing up those steps. Even coming back down is tiring.
Nice views, but the thing I remember most were the scenes of distressed children. One was of a family taking their overweight 10 year old up the pathway towards the waterfall. They were still near the bottom and already the fat kid was moaning. 'I can't go on - this is too far'. They'd barely left the carpark.
A little later I was looking at the view of the falls from afar and another American family appeared next to me. I overheard the kid in the relatively rotund group say 'mom, what's that? I'm scared'. He was pointing in the direction of the view. She replied 'Honey, that's a waterfall. Oh my God'.
Well said.
Hills have never been my thing! Did you know Rochester Row is uphill?
