Iulia and I goto sleep in the main at different times. But there is a point of unification when we both go to the same bed. Recently it has been occupied by the third man, but the principle is still the same - we should ideally go to bed together.
That's when the trouble starts....
It's even worse when Iulia has a late night project to work on. Being made of centuries of Romanian pain and suffering, she actually gets a kick out of working on spreadsheets and slides til 3am.
I really really don't. And this is a source of incredible tension because being an Edwardian male, I feel that it is my right to dominate her to come to bed with me when I'm sleepy. Although I don't see it the other way round.
One day, someone will come up with answers to these big gender differences.
By the way, the Bunyip of Berkley's Creek is an Australian children's book written when I was little, probably no longer in print, but an exceptional story and has stayed with me forever. A bunyip is a mythical Australian creature that lives in Billabongs (watering holes). And very similar to Romanian women late at night.
