Day Sixty Five - movie night

Trying to find a decent film to watch when you're a middle aged couple is a battle of wills between your inner complacency and the patience to believe that there's a hidden gem waiting out there for you to make your night a success.

And given you're dieting, to compensate for the lack of goody munching, you really hope you'll find something good.

Iulia is a little more tolerant than I. She gets very invested in a film the moment the credits start declaring with happiness 'is this a movie?' and perking up like a toddler about to be read a bedtime story. Me, I'm far more cynical, and will give a film no more than five minutes before I'm prepared to switch off entirely.

I suppose I'm what you'd call a movie grinch. I perhaps should retire from movie watching and go back to books.
