There's something about the way little tots sit on the floor that is incredibly cute. Their backs are bolt upright, cross-legged and arms down in total compliance. It's very hard to sit like that as an adult. We tend to slouch and allow gravity to reshape our body into a kind of fleshly dormant volcano, with our legs splayed in whichever way our nerves permit us.
Little kids on the other hand sit with perfect posture and wait, patiently, in that upright position for as long as their attention is required. Loki sits like that, as I've drawn him in the panel below . . .
Of course, there's also a lot about toddlers that isn't cute. In fact it's downright infuriating. And all that wasted food is one thing that drives me to distraction.
On the diet front, it's like trying to detox a heroin addict in an opium den.
He gives us a good excuse, not our fault giving in, it's all his fault
Time to teach him about food poverty.
