One Hundred and Twenty - angle grinder

I've had a week of toothache that has been a brilliant excuse to sink a few beers each evening to try to dull the pain. Everyone at work has been saying it's the most painful thing you can have, the stabbing throbbing menace in your face. But 100% of the people who said that were men. So I'm absolutely confident that they're right and it's more painful than childbirth, at the very least because it's maybe the same pain as childbirth, but in your mouth - which sounds way worse to me.

For those of you unfamiliar with the 1970's thriller 'Marathon Man', there's a scene where Dustin Hoffman is interrogated by Laurence Olivier, looking exactly like my dentist grandfather by some astonishing coincidence. In this scene, Hoffman is placed by the baddies into a dentist's chair whereupon Olivier unpacks a set of dental tools and proceeds to fiddle about with his teeth, repeatedly asking 'Is it safe?' without any regard for the poor screaming Hoffman's answers.

I remember watching this film as a teenager and finding the whole conceit terrifying. It clearly seems to have stuck.

No idea where I heard the word 'angle grinder' before though. Until I drew one today, I didn't even know what they were for. Actually I still don't.
